Energy Management Clubs in Educational Institutions

During the year the Energy Foundation launched Energy Management Clubs at the Kumasi Polytechnic , the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and several second cycle institutions. Energy Clubs were also launched at Ofori-Panin Secondary School, Hwediem Secondary School, Ola Secondary School and Acherensua Secondary School. This brings to seven (one club operates at Accra Polytechnic) the number of Energy Management Clubs established in 2nd Cycle and Tertiary Institutions in the country. An energy efficiency forum was also conducted at KNUST to sensitize students on steps they could take to conserve energy in the various halls of residence and lecture halls. The objective of the clubs is to sensitise students on the methods and benefits of energy conservation so that they could practice it and impart the knowledge to others.
